Greg served as AFGE Local 3908's Secretary 1986-1987, on the Executive Board 2000-2001, 2004-2005, and as Treasurer 2012-2020.

April 21, 2021 - A new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between AFGE Local 3908 and NOAA-GLERL is signed. Deputy Director Jesse Feyen [left] and AFGE Local 3908 President David Fanslow negotiated the first new contract since 1997. July 15, 2021 - Farewell happy hour for AFGE Local 3908 brother Eric Anderson. NOAA-GLERL Director Deborah Lee [left] presents Eric with the customary Great Lakes satellite photo. Eric served 9 years on NOAA-GLERL's federal staff, after 5 years with GLERL-UM's CILER Joint Institute. Eric was AFGE Local 3908's President 2014-2018.

March 27, 2008 - Michael Taetsch, Local 3908 Vice President (2008-12) is presented the NOAA-GLERL Director's Award by NOAA-GLERL Director Stephen Brandt, at the annual NOAA-GLERL Awards ceremonies. January 8, 1995 - Local 3908 Vice President Alan W. Bratkovitch passed away after losing his fight with pancreatic cancer. He served as Local 3908's Vice President from February 9, 1993 until his passing. Those who worked with Alan admired his high personal ethics and courage and enjoyed his good humor. February 17, 2004 - Local 3908 member Alan F. Shrum passed away suddenly while on duty at NOAA-GLERL. Everyone who knew brother Alan will never forget his distinctive presence. He served his country as a military veteran and was an irreplaceable member of the NOAA-GLERL family.

April 4, 1986 - Michael A. Quigley, founding member and first President of Local 3908 (1982-86) speaks at groundbreaking ceremonies of the new NOAA-GLERL building at 2205 Commonwealth Blvd. The building was NOAA-GLERL's home 1987-2008.
